Your Home
Pilmuir, was a family home for over 40years and has recently been extensively refurbished to an excellent standard. Meantime we've provided a few shots from inside the house to give you a flavour of our home from home.

The upstairs hall provides a fantastic view point and an atmosphere for having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.. There are two comfy seats with lights, a selection of books and magazines on a shelf along with a window seat. All in all a very pleasant spot to spend a few hours.

The above picture shows the twin bedroom upstairs, which again has great panoramic views and a window seat. All rooms have drawers, water carafes and hanging space. The house is oil central heated although there is a wood burning stove downstairs. For those that panic about hair dryer's there is one provided. Other bedrooms include a double, a single and a family room which contains a double and a single with the option of a second single bed. The single room upstairs has views over the garden but should you have young children there is a baby bath under the bed for your convenience. If you wish a high chair this can be found in the cupboard under the stairs.

This sizeable living / dinning area has fantastic panoramic views over the Cairngorm mountain range. Looking out the window you can often see red deer, ospreys flying past from the local Osprey centre and indeed the steam and smoke from the Strathspey Steam Railway. It's a great view for distracting children and for the adults it's great to sit looking out the window. The dinning table sits 8 and the conservatory area at the rear, gives garden views and long range mountainous views. This room is the main hub of the house. In the cupboard under the TV/video, there are some children's toys, a garage, some board games, cards and remote control mini's for your convenience.

The traditional but modern farmhouse open kitchen is fitted with all mod con's such as Russell Hobbs microwave, a fridge and freezer, dish washer, whistling kettle and a dual fuel combined range cooker. The cooker has 5 gas rings, a grill, a fan assisted oven and a conventional oven and is thus ideal for large families or groups of people. There is a table with two stools in the kitchen, but the key for us is that it's easy to interact with those in the living area, so there is a joy about being in the kitchen cooking rather than being isolated.

The wood burning stove has recently been relocated to this room, during which time we discovered this open fireplace. We hope you agree it is a great feature to Pilmuir and definitely provides a warm homely feel.

Above: Upstairs Bathroom Above: Downstairs Shower room
The upstairs bathroom has been completely gutted and replaced with a shower, bath, toilet and sink. The towel radiator is a luxury for when you get out the bath and wrap up in a nice warm, fluffy towel. The bathroom has views over the back of the house. Downstairs there is a shower, toilet and sink which is conveniently accessible for those located on the ground floor. If you or a friend/relative finds it hard to climb stairs the downstairs facilities are ideal and near to the family (double and single) bedroom.

The garden is secure and 1/4 of acre has been created into a paddock for children, dogs or horses. We often bring 2 Shetland ponies and a 16.1 horse across with us. Should you wish to have more than 1/4 acre grazing it can be arranged for further land to be rented.. At the rear of the garden there is a wooden bridge which provides access up the back of the hill through woodland. If you are a keen walker, there is a 7mile walk to Carr bridge by just walking over this wooden bridge. The bridge is wide enough for horses to cross.

The view one August evening over the Cairngorms from the front of the house. These pictures were actually taken with a camera phone.
